Why this blog?
This blog is a new addition to the many ways in which Canada Health Infoway will put forward its strategies and activities, industry points of view, findings, and questions relating to the various aspects of developing interoperable health care information and communication systems.
We hope that all stakeholders in this important initiative will bring forward new opportunities, share their ideas and opinions, challenge our thinking, and express their support when things are on the right track.
We invite our visitors to use this space to discuss all the aspects of implementing this exciting new technology:

About Infoway
Canada Health Infoway is an independent not-for-profit corporation created to foster and accelerate the development and adoption of a pan Canadian electronic health record (EHR) system that will give patients’ authorized health care providers access to their critical health information, no matter where they are in the country.
Funded by the Government of Canada, Infoway works with the country’s ten provinces and three territories to co-invest in the implementation of private, secure electronic information and communication systems for health care. In addition, we enable best practices and successful projects in one region to be shared or replicated in other regions, and deliver technical and education support to health care providers and solution providers.
This is a complex initiative that needs to be well thought out and done responsibly. With health information being of a very sensitive and private nature, this network must respect all privacy laws and health care policies. It also has to be designed and created so that it can evolve with our growing health care needs in Canada, for years to come.
In addition, it involves many different stakeholders, a large number of which Infoway has been working with for several years. Now we want to reach out to more of them, and using social media platforms is an excellent means of doing so.
Hi, I’d like some information regarding setting up a service for ‘patient data entry’. I’m curious if i can run an independent business to service doctors who have yet to digitize their files in the Vancouver area. Sole purpose would be to enter all medical data per their clients.
If anyone can direct me to where i can go for all information and education regarding this type of service that would be great – thank you!
